Ecological workshop held at Zlatna greda (Croatia)

Within the project "Pannonian Art Path", the project partner, Association for the Protection of Nature and Environment "Zlatna greda ', held two-day workshop for students and teachers from both art academies on 7. and 8. November 2013. at the premises of "Zlatna greda". On the first day of the workshop, representatives of "Zlatna greda" Dinko Pesic and Maja Bračun gave lectures on nature protection, environmental and sustainable development, with a brief introduction to these fields from global to national, regional and local framework and issues, as well as on linking the ecology, culture and art through the land art, eco-tourism and similar.. The afternoon sessions were reserved for field visits of Kopacki Rit, educational path "Wealth of the swamp" discussing on biodiversity, history of the wilderness, major natural phenomena.

On the second day of the workshop, students and teachers visited the Pannonian Peace Trail - the bicycle route that runs through Kopacki rit and crosses the Danube to the Serbian side continuing to Subotica. By stopping at several locations along the trail, workshop participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with the geographical, natural and cultural significance of the area, Baranja, Danube, Drava, Kopački rit, wilderness, wine routes, architecture, biodiversity and mulitcultural aspect that characterizes this area.

Extremely rich and instructive program of ecological workshop aimed to introduce to students the topic of ecology and its deep connection with the culture and art as well as to make them know the area better since the land art installations will be realized at these sites during the art workshop in April 2014. as a central activity of the "Pannonian Art Path".
