THE PANNONIAN ART PATH CONQUERS KOPAČKI RIT

LAND ART WORKSHOP HELD IN BARANJA
05 – 10. May 2014.

Students from the two academies from 5. - 10. May 2014. stayed in Baranja attending the art workshop, during which they had the opportunity to meet with several techniques of making art works in nature. Art workshop in Kopački rit, on behalf of the of the Arts Academy in Osijek, as main partner in the project "Pannonian Art Path", was guided by the sculpturer Nikola Faller, who is also a founder of the Land Art Festival "Straw" that is held in Osijek and its sourroundings already for seven years.

Within six working days the students employed different techniques of straw binding , wrapping with the straw 10 iron bikes that will be placed on specific locations in Baranja and Apatin. They learned the technique of cutting the grass making drawings in the field, as well as the technique of trampling the grass with which they created a great, antique velosiped. Using straw, twigs and other natural materials, students, a part from already mentioned works, , created a dozen more of land art works and set them in a natural environment of Kopacki Rit with the guidance and consultations received from our project partners "Green Osijek". In addition to working in nature, art workshop participants had the opportunity to visit the sculpture symposium in nearby Siklós in Hungary.
