The idea of implementation of a joint project under IPA CBC Croatia Serbia 2007-2013 Programme was conceived in 2009. as a logical sequence of then established, but already successful cooperation between the Academy of Arts of the University of Novi Sad and the Academy of Arts of the University "Josip Juraj Strossmayer" in Osijek. During 2011. the Association for Nature and Environment Protection "Green Osijek" from Osijek gave its undisputed contribution to the realization of the project idea linking it with the project "Pannonian Peace Trail" which was implemented few years earlier by Croatian and Serbian partners and which aimed at creating the eponymous bicycle route from Subotica to Osijek.

The "Pannonian Art Path - Strengthening cooperation and networking of higher education institutions in the field of art and ecology" seeks, through intensive work with students from the two academies to encourage creative research in the field of "land art" (land art) linking it with the basic postulates of preserving the environment and healthy living.

Cooperation within the framework of the project is focused on acquiring new knowledge and skills through an ecological workshop, land art workshop and art work in the countryside, as well as on development of students' research potentials and raising awareness about the values of the art through the sustainable use of natural resources and eco-friendly materials with the aim of preserving the cultural and natural heritage of the two regions. In addition to enhancing the relations between the two art institutions and improving the quality of direct artistic work with students, the results of this project will contribute to expand tourist offer of the regions of Vojvodina, Slavonia and Baranja.
